Bank boosts Valley sign language options

Bank of the Sierra is funneling money into expanded sign language class offerings in the South Valley. With an estimated 42,000 individuals in Tulare and Kings counties affected by hearing loss, bank officials said the need for sign language classes is overwhelming.

Bank of the Sierra is partnering with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center of Visalia, and recently awarded a Sierra GrantSM award of $2,126.43 to fund free sign language classes in the South Valley.

"Programs dedicated to the health and well-being of the families in our communities are well deserving," said James C. Holly, president and CEO of Bank of the Sierra. "We are happy to make a contribution to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center, Inc."
