'Hearing aid' dogs graduate from SPCA
Eight former shelter dogs graduated from the San Francisco SPCA Hearing Dog program.
The program selects homeless dogs ands trains them to react to important sounds, like telephones, alarm clocks, fire alarms, or a knock at the door.
The dogs also spent eight days getting to know their new human companions, who are deaf or hard of hearing.
More than 750 dogs have graduated from the program since it began in 1978.
