Baby sign language

Parents, how would you like to stop your baby's crying fits and temper tantrums. Some East Texas women say they know how to do it.

Jennifer Walda says her 15-month-old daughter Carly communicates very well.

Jennifer taught Carly sign language when she was 9-months-old.

Carly can communicate her wants and desire to her mom without tears or temper tantrums.

Their little minds they under stand so much but cognitively they are not ready to pronounce words so it help relieve a lot of the frustration, the whinnying, the crying, the arching their back to try and communicate what she wants.

If she is all done she does all done and we don't worry she's not spitting it out or throwing it on the floor.

Sara Hague teaches sign language to baby's and parents.

She says the benefits reach beyond ending temper tantrums.

She says studies prove baby's who sign are often smarter than their peers once they reach the toddler years.

Part of the benefit of using the baby sign is increasing vocab and sign language is something any baby can learn.

If you have seen a baby wave bye bye they can sign or they reach their hands up because they want to be picked up in a since they are using their bodies to communicate in setad of words.

Carly isn't ready to gie a speech yet but her mother knows exactly what she is trying to say.
