Gallaudet alumni star in Times Square spot
Gallaudet graduates will be the center of attention in New York City’s Times Square during October, thanks to a public service announcement scheduled to run on the Panasonic Company’s huge Times Square Astro Vision screen. The video will air once every hour every day throughout the month.
The 30-second spot, produced collaboratively by the University’s Offices of Public Relations, Alumni Relations and Academic Technology: Television and Media Production Services, features Gallaudet alumni showing the diverse career paths available to deaf and hard of hearing people. The video’s message makes it clear: Deaf people can do anything except hear.
A member of the Gallaudet Board of Associates, Marilyn “Penny” Joseph, is the director of Corporate Outreach Programs at Panasonic and asked Panasonic to provide the University with this unique branding opportunity.
