Gallaudet University American Sign Language Proficiency Interview

ATTN: Students and Staff: Welcome to the Spring 2006 Gallaudet University American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (GU-ASLPI) session. The GU-ASLPI is a videotaped interactive process between a trained interviewer and the candidate which may last up to thirty (30) minutes. It is a holistic evaluation of an individual's overall proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).

The GU-ASLPI rating is based on the candidate's understanding and use of ASL while communicating during the interview.

January 30-February 10 is the ONLY time during the semester that scheduling will occur. You must schedule your interview during this time period. All scheduling must be done in person at the CASLL office.

INTERVIEWS: February 6-April 6
(No interviews will be scheduled during Spring Break, March 13-17 or March 22-24.)

The GU-ASLPI is required for some of the graduate programs. If you are a graduate student and you are unsure if the GU-ASLPI is a requirement for you, check with your academic advisor, program director and/or department chair. Please make a note of the sign-up period because you will not be able to secure an interview at any other time during the semester.
