“These instruments can programme two ears at a time and are among the most advanced global technologies,” said T S Anand, managing director, Widex.

Widex India is a joint venture of $250 million Widex ApS of Denmark. It has a distribution network of 100 dealers and controls over 60 per cent market share in the digital hearing aids in the domestic market.

“This is the 10th Senso Hearing Centre of Widex and the second exclusive centre. By the end of this fiscal we intend to open around 13 more centres,” said Anand.

“We are planning tie-ups with NGOs, schools, and sponsorships for less privileged and organising professional conferences to answer the apprehensions regarding the use of hearing aids,” he added.

“Widex offers a full range of hearing aids - behind-the-ear, in-the-canal, and completely-in-the-canal aids. Additional facilities provided at this centre will be speech and language therapy for the cochlear implant and hearing aid users,” said Preeti Anand, joint managing director, Widex India.

“On an average one out of every thousand children born in the country is deaf. Despite this, there is hardly any awareness for early detection of hearing loss among the children,” Anand added.
