Foxy Brown undergoes ear surgery

Rap star Foxy Brown's hearing is slowly returning after she underwent emergency surgery for a rare condition which threatened to leave her permanently deaf. The MC, 26, was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss - known as sudden sensorineural hearing loss - last May while recording her album 'Black Roses.'

Brown, real name Inga Marchand, was furious when her lawyer Joseph Tacopina disclosed her hearing loss in December, when he was asked why they had exchanged notes while waiting in Manhattan Criminal Court for her case to be called on an unresolved 2004 assault charge.

Def Jam president Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter says, "She just had an operation out in LA, and hopefully within the next couple of weeks her hearing will slowly start to come back."
