Deaf girl hit while walking across street
A deaf student was hit by a car in front of Barbara Jordan Technical School on Friday morning. Houston police said the 16-year-old girl was walking across Kelley Road around 8 a.m. She was allegedly jaywalking.
Officers said the driver wasn't speeding or breaking any laws, so he was not ticketed.
The girl was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but police said there were no visible injuries.
