Gallaudet student dies

A Columbus man died yesterday after the pickup in which he was a passenger struck a utility pole along I-270 in Dublin about 4:10 a.m.

Dublin police said Joshua R. Best, 22, of 80 Antelope Way, was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he died at 4:49 a.m.

The driver, Justin M. McKibben, 18, of Sardinia in Brown County, was treated at Riverside.

Police said McKibben was southbound on I-270 south of Rt. 33 when the crash occurred. The pickup struck a sign, then the pole.

The freeway was closed about four hours. Police said the investigation was continuing and would not give additional details.

RIP Joshua Best, I will always remember you.
