Woman Scamming Deaf Community

San Diego police are looking for a woman who goes by "Lisa" who they say is suspected of defrauding members of the deaf community with a pyramid scheme.

Police say she offers to pay off credit-card debt in exchange for cash, then pays the bills with bogus checks and online payments drawn from stolen bank accounts.

The woman, who police say has a limited knowledge of American Sign Language, as shown in this composite sketch, is described as white, no taller than 5 feet 6 inches, about 120 pounds, with black hair. She has a pointed nose and thick wavy hair. She commonly wears a business suit with high-heeled shoes and a thumb ring.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of this suspect is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-TIPS. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for these crimes.
